Scottish Enterprise - Assessing the Visitor Impact of the UK Giant Pandas
The Chinese Government has gifted the UK government with 2 giant pandas for a period of 10 years. The pandas will be hosted at Edinburgh Zoo and Scottish Enterprise has commissioned Frontline to help them understand the potential tourism impact the pandas will bring. In particular Frontline will demonstrate the impact of visitor numbers, and the economic impact at local and national levels. The study will use desk research and consultations with other zoos and stakeholders throughout the world to understand the pandas can be best used to maximise tourism benefits for Scotland and Edinburgh and how organisations in Scotland can work together to achieve this.
